This Agar Powder is tested for contaminants according to the ANZ Food Code standards. It is derived from a red seaweed harvested sustainably in India and hand packed in New Zealand.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Seaweeds are hygroscopic (which means they absorb moisture from the atmosphere around them) so please seal securely once opened.
Warnings:Â MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF: Crustacea, Fish (molluscs).
Using Agar

Directions: For a hard set, add 1 teaspoon per cup of liquid (some experimentation may be required for desired consistency). Heat to 90 degrees and stir until dissolved (don’t boil excessively). Will expand upon re-hydrating and set at room temperature. Read this blog for more on how much to use.

Agar Packaging
Our Agar is packed in a fully recyclable or reusable plastic jar with an aluminium lid. Place in your household recycling bin or reuse as required.
Seaweeds are hygroscopic so require moisture protection. Unfortunately compostable materials are not yet sufficient to provide an adequate moisture barrier.
