Shop for raw dried edible Nori (Karengo) seaweed here, available as Nori flakes or fronds. Nori (or Karengo as it is more commonly called in NZ), is also known as Parengo, Luche or Laver – it is the ‘sushi seaweed’. Eat is raw from the bag as a delicious, low fat seaweed snack, brimming with health properties – rich in Vitamin B12, rich in iodine!
Due to the 2016 earthquake New Zealand experienced, the commercial harvesting area for Karengo remains closed to allow the seabed to recover. We offer this same species of Karengo seaweed, but currently source from wild harvesters in South America or farmed (organically certified) Nori from Korea until we are able to source locally once more.
