Searching for the perfect tomato sandwich? Try this combination….avocado’s creaminess, dulse’s saltiness and a sweet tomato fresh from the garden, with your chosen garnish. Simply a feast for the eyes and the taste buds.
4 slices of seedy multi-grain sandwich bread (or gluten free if you prefer)
1 fresh tomato, sliced
1/2 avocado, sliced into thin pieces
Lettuce leaves, sprouts or both (optional)
2 tbsp Dulse flakes or leaves
2 tsp mayonnaise
freshly cracked black pepper
Toast the bread slices.
For each sandwich:
Spread the mayonnaise on one slice. Arrange the avocado on the other slice and sprinkle with Dulse flakes. Arrange the tomato slices on top of the avocado & Dulse flakes. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Cover with the slice that has been spread with mayonnaise.
Cut in half for easy handling, share if you have to. Enjoy !
