DLT – Dulse Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich RecipeCourse: LunchDifficulty: Easy
A Vegan BLT replaces bacon with Dulse seaweed. It is he ultimate indulgence. Avocado’s creaminess balances Dulse’s smoky saltiness and all is the perfect complement to a garden sweet tomato – sweet, salty and satisfying.

4 slices of gluten free, dairy free bread (eg vogels or your own home made recipe)
1 fresh tomato, sliced
1/2 avocado, sliced into thin pieces
Lettuce leaves, sprouts or both (optional)
2 tbsp Dulse flakes or leaves
2 tsp vegan mayonnaise (we like Wise Boys or make your own)
freshly cracked black pepper
- Toast the bread slices.
- For each sandwich:
- Spread the mayonnaise on one slice. Arrange the avocado on the other slice and sprinkle with Dulse flakes. Arrange the tomato slices on top of the avocado & Dulse flakes. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Cover with the slice that has been spread with mayonnaise.
- Cut in half for easy handling, share if you have to.
- Tip: Try smoked dulse flakes, garlic /citrus furikake, or lemon kelp seaosoning to experiment with garnish and add more nutrients.
