Pacific Harvest’s Atlantic Dulse is wild harvested from an Eco-cert organically certified area.
Always choose seaweeds which have been tested for contaminants. Just as they absorb nutrients they also absorb toxins from the ocean, so its essential that food grade seaweeds have been properly tested. We test to the ANZ Food Code requirements.
We grade our seaweeds by hand, but occassionally miss something. Please check for ocean detritus before use.

How to Use Dulse Flakes
Dulse flakes are a popular smoothie ingredient used in cleansing and detoxing smoothies as Dulse is strongly associated with the collection and removal of heavy metals and toxins. (Read more about how all seaweeds (not just Dulse!) can naturally help to cleanse and detox here.)
However, what fewer people know is they are also the perfect garnish on eggs, soups, savoury baking, potatoes, and poke bowls.
Try these tried and tested Dulse recipes we have collected over the years, and please share your creations with us!

Harvesting, testing, packing & recylcing
How we harvest, test our pack our Atlantic Dulse Flakes
Our dulse flakes are organically wild harvested from an Eco-cert organically certified area, then dried naturally to preserve their dense nutritional value.
Pacific Harvest specialises in seaweed, and has been trusted by the nutritional community since 2002. We test all our dulse leaves for contaminants in external labs, before packing the flakes in our food grade facility in Auckland. As Dulse flakes are wild harvested seaweed, we hand grade them in our food grade facility in Auckland before packing them into our bags. Please do check for detritus before consuming. We recently removed the zip lock from our refill bags to reduce the amount of overall plastic in the bag. Please use the resealable sticker we provide to keep moisture out.
Recycling packaging
300g bag:
- We have left some space for you to reseal your seaweed, and also to allow us to use this bag all year round as sometimes the size of flakes is variable. The plastic pouch can be recycled through soft plastic recycling schemes. Ideally we’d not use plastic but as seaweeds are hygroscopic (attract moisture) we need to ensure we can keep the seaweeds food safe. Compostable options don’t currently provide adequate moisture barriers. Please read more on our packaging journey here.
80g bag:
- We recently added cardboard boxes to our range to ensure the stores who stock these products can stand them on shelf as the pouches we previously used fell over constantly! Please pop these into your worm farm, or in kerb side cardboard recycling.
